Imagine my excitement as a lover of both hound and photo to come across the launch issue of Four&Sons by dream team, Marta Roca and Samantha Gurrie. This is a perfect magazine where ‘dogs and culture collide’.I am literally in heaven, Hellen van Meene’s curious twins mixed with the powerful…

[where my memories live]
This is the first image from a little project I’m working on. The basic idea is that I spend a lot of time in a bunch of mundane looking places during my daily life. I came to realize that I have lots of little memories that all get triggered when I go to these places, and for my own sake I want to document those places so later on, when I’m far away from here, I can look back and remember all those little memories of what my routine was like back then.
This video store is where my parents took me when I was a child to rent kids movies on VHS tapes. I’ve been in here hundreds of times, have deliberated over hundreds of movies with family and friends alike. Now I take my kids here to rent kids movies on DVDs.
So there we go.

Naeem Alvi & Roo Lewis sit down for an exclusive interview with Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons to talk all about Communion Music, the record label he co-founded in 2006.

"I don’t think there’s ever been a glory year. That’s the weird thing about it. It just got stronger and stronger over time.” - Ben Lovett.

The Quarterly issue 2 has landed. No adverts. No filler.
Three months ago we shared The Quarterly’s 30-day kickstarter campaign to raise £1500 to cover initial printing costs for their second issue, which successfully reached it’s goal!
Now finally on sale to the world at The Quarterly website, the 144-page creative journal features exclusive work from some of the world’s most talented photographers and writers on a high-paper stock, advert-free platform, examining the relationship between ‘life and culture’.
Order the second issue here and check out their video to learn more.

Stoked to unveil 1 of 2 covers for Issue 2 of The Quarterly.
With our printing deadline just around the corner, our writers and photographers around the world are working hard to make all of the last minute tweaks and changes to their respective projects, and we’re beyond excited for you all to see the finished project.
While we finalise everything, we thought we’d give you a sneak preview of one of our two covers for Issue 2 of The Quarterly. Yep, you heard right. Two covers. Each completely different but still as awesome as the other.
Our feature shoot and feature editorial for Issue 2 of The Quarterly explores the subject of modern tattoo culture; it’s current rise in popularity and the role of tattoos in the fashion world.
We speak to tattoo models, tattoo shop owners, tattoo artists, and one illustrator which people have unexpectedly started paying to design tattoos for them.
Trust us, it’s epic.
If you’d like to order a copy of Issue 2 you still have 6 days left to do so on The Quarterly Issue 2 Kickstarter.

A Magazine that Does Stuff Differently: The Quarterly

With no investors and no advertisers, UK’s The Quarterly magazine is trying to change the way the industry works. The print journal, started by Sanj Sahota in early 2013,  is an international publication with a focus on photography that features talents from around the world and of different backgrounds. The magazine covers fashion, travel, photojournalism and real life issues and advocates creative talents and ethical publishing practices.

Issue 1 explored the theme of Censorship. Issue 2 is looking at Life and Culture. More on The Quarterly here.

As part of our exploration into Life & Culture for issue 2 of The Quarterly, French photographer, Maud Chalard, went on a road trip around Scotland to explore ”the journey of a youth full of hope who dreams of adventure, wide open spaces and fresh air.”

The full article and more photos will feature in the print version of issue 2 of The Quarterly which you can pre-order in advance on our kickstarter HERE.
